Roma Economic Development Initiative (REDI) was initially set up in 2016 as an NGO in Romania to help develop tools to focus on the economic empowerment and financial inclusion of Roma entrepreneurs. The organization expanded to North Macedonia (2019) and Serbia (2020), and will continue to expand to other countries.
So far, REDI has:
- mapped 3,600 entrepreneurs active in vulnerable communities
- offered close to 35,000 hours of business development support, consulting, and advocacy
- trained 130 Roma entrepreneurs
- digitalized and mentored 90 businesses
In 2019 we set up REDI Economic Development SA (REDI Fund) to facilitate access to finance for Roma entrepreneurs.
